In all but 9 of the 625 cases, the scene / HRC combinations were aligned
using the automated alignment algorithm described in Document T1A1.5/93-152.
Initial alignments input to this automated algorithm were determined by
visually aligning the destination and source temporal information time
histories (TId to TIs) for each scene /HRC combination.

The automated alignment's output timecodes were modified when the alignment
would include the grey interval after the scene. Due to the large amount of
dynamic time warping present in some HRCs, correct alignment (determined
visually) may included the grey interval after the end of scene. Therefore,
these exceptions do not necessarily denote errors in the automated alignment
algorithm. In these cases, the scene /HRC start time code was moved back to
insure that the last frame of the nine second (270 - frame) clip would lie at
least two frames before the last video frame of that scene / HRC. These cases
are listed below along with the number of frames by which each alignment time
code was modified to not include the gray at the end of the scene.

cirkit(76)	moved 22 frames
cirkit(77)	moved 18 frames
cirkit(78)	moved 4 frames
cirkit(83)	moved 23 frames
cirkit(85)	moved 15 frames
rodmap(76)	moved 3 frames
rodmap(82)	moved 6 frames
vtc2mp(80)	moved 5 frames
ysmite(81)	moved 22 frames

The automated alignment algorithm returned an ambiguous alignment for three
scene / HRC combinations. In these cases, the input visual alignment was
retained. These three cases are: cirkit(71), cirkit(84), and flogar(90).
File `align.tc' lists for each scene / HRC combination the time code of the
first frame of the nine-second (270 -frame) clip over which the thirteen
ITS parameters were computed. These time codes represent the output of the
automatic alignment algorithm, modified with respect to ambiguous alignments
and overlap into invalid video. These time codes correspond to time codes on
HRC tapes 1 through 25.

Source scene time codes are also included in file `align.tc'. The source
scene time codes listed are identical to those used to edit the viewing
tapes. Time codes for the source scenes correspond to time codes on HRC
tape 100, a dub of HRC tape 1.
